The assumptions librarians bring to teaching are seldom acknowledged in their practice or in their professional development, yet these assumptions affect their motivation, actions, and learning. What shapes these assumptions is explored using an ecological model developed through qualitative research that places the self in its immediate and broader contexts.

Les présomptions que les bibliothécaires apportent à l’enseignement sont rarement reconnues dans leur pratique ou dans leur perfectionnement professionnel, mais ces présomptions ont une incidence sur leur motivation, leurs actions et leur apprentissage. Ce qui façonne ces présomptions est exploré à l’aide d’un modèle écologique élaboré grâce à une recherche qualitative qui place l’individu dans son contexte immédiat et plus large.
